Forefront Athlete Academy
Strength & conditioning for athletes aged 12-18.
Forefront Athlete Academy provides structured physical preparation for young athletes who want to become stronger, faster, more powerful and better able to cope with the demands of training and competition.
The programme is designed to complement an athlete’s sport, not replace sport-specific coaching, with a long-term approach to developing physical qualities and good training habits.

What do athletes train?
Every session is full body and combines different elements of athletic development. The exact content changes as athletes progress, but sessions may include:
SPEED & ATHLETICISM
Movement preparation, acceleration, sprinting, jumping, landing and throwing to develop coordination, speed and athletic ability.
FULL-BODY STRENGTH
Progressive strength training built around fundamental movement patterns, with exercises selected and progressed according to the individual athlete.
POWER & OLYMPIC LIFTING
Age-appropriate Olympic lifting progressions and other explosive exercises used to develop power, coordination and confidence with more advanced training methods.
MOBILITY & PHYSICAL ROBUSTNESS
Mobility, trunk training, carries and supporting exercises that help athletes develop the physical capacity needed to tolerate training and competition.
Coaching backed by performance experience
Forefront Athlete Academy is led by Callum Henley, a UKSCA-accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach with more than 15 years of coaching experience.
Alongside his work at Forefront, Callum’s coaching experience includes ongoing physical performance work with pathway and competitive swimmers, working with professional boxers, work as part of the Derbyshire Institute of Sport, and camp and competition support with Swim England.
